Description
The Finger Lakes DDSO is seeking a Design Vendor to provide comprehensive drawing design and specification generation for a roof replacement project at the Long Acre IRA facility located at 198 Long Acre Rd, Rochester, NY 14621. The scope of work includes providing a pre-bid cost estimate, specifications for asbestos abatement (if necessary), and a design for the roof replacement, including missing soffits, rafter tails, fascia boards, gutters, and downspouts. The design must comply with various building codes and regulations, including Coderule56, 14NYCRR635, 19NYCRR1201 and 1204, OPWDD Specifications, NFPA standards, the NYS Uniform Building Code, and the NYS Environmental and Energy Code Regulation. Minimum product requirements include a 30-year warranty and algae-resistant fiberglass-reinforced asphalt shingles, with no asbestos-containing materials to be used. All primary roofing products must be from a single manufacturer. The design documents are to be submitted in Adobe PDF format, with a 90% completion submission for permitting and a 100% completion submission approved for construction. Upon acceptance for construction, the Design Vendor must provide two sets of blueprint copies. The agency is self-permitting. Construction Administration Services are not required for this project. Asbestos testing conducted on April 22, 2026, indicated that the sampled materials were non-asbestos containing. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the project site. Bids will not be accepted from vendors who do not attend this site visit, and late arrivals may be disqualified.
