Description
Orange Water and Sewer Authority is soliciting sealed unit-price bids for a single-prime general construction contract covering replacement of approximately 560 linear feet of existing 8-inch asbestos-cement water mains with ductile iron and PVC water mains, including meters, connections, appurtenances, pavement, curb, and gutter restoration. The project also includes approximately 1,480 linear feet of sanitary sewer replacement, manhole replacement and installation, temporary bypass pumping, traffic control, erosion and sediment control, utility coordination, property restoration, and related roadway work along Brigham Road and an existing sanitary sewer easement. Addendum 01 increases the estimated asphalt mill-and-overlay quantity to 1,860 square yards, removes one street-cut allowance, adds water-main testing requirements, and adds cured-in-place pipe rehabilitation as a specification and bid alternate. Bidders must attend the mandatory pre-bid conference, acknowledge the addendum in the bid form, and submit the listed bid documents and certifications, including the executed unit-price bid form, bidder checklist, equipment/material and subcontractor list, certification affidavit, bid certification, contractor experience form, personnel list, signature pages, organization and authority affidavit, non-collusion affidavit, equal-employment-opportunity certifications, North Carolina general contractor's license, Iran Divestment Form, and Companies Boycotting Israel Form. A bid bond equal to 5% of the bid amount or a certified/cashier's check is required. The project includes substantial completion within 180 calendar days and final completion 30 calendar days later; the engineer's opinion of probable construction cost is $1.9 million.
