The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting construction services to demolish existing floor coverings and install new flooring in pharmacy compounding rooms under Project No. 637-25-107. The work includes concrete substrate preparation, moisture testing and remediation as needed, cementitious self-leveling underlayment, and a seamless, monolithic epoxy resinous mortar flooring system with integral one-inch cove base, grout coats, polyurethane sealer, and anti-slip finish. The specified system is approximately 3/16 to 1/4 inch thick and must meet stated chemical-resistance, durability, moisture, and coefficient-of-friction requirements. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, demolition, disposal, finishing, cleaning, samples, mockups, product data, shop drawings, quality-control documentation, safety plans, activity hazard analyses, infection-control and dust-protection measures, and required submittals. Work will occur in an occupied medical center that must remain operational continuously, requiring phased scheduling, protection of patients and staff, maintenance of utilities, and coordination of interruptions with the VA. The specifications also require qualified flooring installation experience, a three-year flooring warranty, performance and payment bonds, and extensive construction safety and quality-control procedures.
