The Department of the Navy, through Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane, is seeking a new source for expendable pyrophoric countermeasures used independently or with onboard and offboard aircraft countermeasure systems. The capability is intended to protect U.S. aircraft from legacy and advanced infrared missile threats by decoying missile seekers away from the aircraft. The notice identifies active pyrophoric countermeasure systems including M211, MJU-49/B, MJU-64/B, MJU-66/B, XM219, MJU-50A/B, MJU-51A/B, and MJU-52A/B. The notice is a special notice seeking a demonstration or development capability; it does not state quantities, pricing, contract structure, submission instructions, or attachments.
