Description
NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center requires engineering services and support for ground-based accelerated radiation testing of microelectronic and photonic elements used in spacecraft and spaceflight instruments. Testing will use particle accelerators and ion beams to evaluate single-event effects, total ionizing dose, and displacement damage dose. The anticipated period of performance is up to five years from award. NASA intends to establish a sole-source blanket purchase agreement with the Cyclotron Institute at Texas A&M University because it is identified as the only known facility able to provide the required tuned beam energies of 15, 25, and 40 MeV/u, uniform particle fluxes up to 1e5/(cm2.s), an in-air testing and positioning system, and the required access.
