Description
The City of San Antonio Animal Care Services is soliciting applications from qualified and experienced veterinarians to provide services at ACS facilities. The scope includes routine and non-routine spay/neuter surgeries, physical examinations, surgical-risk evaluations, intra-operative and post-operative care, complication management, medical records, owner or caregiver communications, and compliance with licensing, credentialing, and controlled-substance requirements. Contractors are expected to perform at least 10 surgeries per shift, with an expectation of increasing to 20 or more, and to maintain a complication rate below 1%.\n\nWhen scheduled, contractors may also provide wellness and veterinary medicine services, including examinations, vaccinations, microchipping, parasite treatment, diagnostics, emergency and special surgeries, medication administration, euthanasia, and diagnosis and treatment under department protocols. Compensation is $1,300 per shift, with a possible $50 travel stipend for qualifying contractors outside San Antonio, and reimbursement of up to $1,000 per DEA license per location. Applicants must submit the specified application forms, references, resumes and licenses, disclosures, and signature page, and must maintain professional liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per claim.
