The New York State Bridge Authority is seeking qualified firms of licensed professional engineers to serve as its General Consulting Engineer. Services include annual maintenance inspections of three Authority bridges per year; illustrated inspection reports; annual bridge inventory and condition updates; five- and fifteen-year capital recommendations; replacement-value and Maintenance Reserve Fund estimates; trustee certification support; ongoing consultation with Authority leadership; additional design services under a $500,000-per-year term contract; and small-scale construction inspection assignments. The work covers five Hudson River crossings and Walkway Over the Hudson. Proposers must demonstrate extensive experience with comparable bridges, particularly large suspension bridges and through-truss or under-deck-truss structures, and must provide continuous involvement by experienced company principals. The contract term is at least three years, with a three-year renewal option. A 30% MWBE contracting goal is stated, and proposers are strongly encouraged to reflect MWBE and SDVOB participation in their submissions.
