Description
The City of Fort Myers is seeking a qualified contractor to relocate approximately 5,500 banker’s boxes and 700 large plan boxes from 23 storage units at Public Storage, 2235 Colonial Boulevard, to the City’s new records warehouse at 2801 Michigan Avenue. The scope includes providing all labor, supervision, trucks, dollies, carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, lifting devices, transportation, fuel, materials, and other equipment necessary to remove, load, secure, transport, unload, and place the records on the warehouse floor. Boxes must be handled carefully to prevent loss, damage, misplacement, or exposure and stacked no more than three boxes high. The quote must include a lump-sum price, availability and proposed start date, estimated working days, anticipated vehicles, staffing and equipment, assumptions or limitations, and other considerations for safely handling public records. The move is anticipated to occur in October 2026, with the final schedule coordinated with the City. The solicitation states that the lowest responsive quote will be selected and that the purchase order is intended as a one-time purchase. Required uploads include proof of Florida registration, a certificate of insurance meeting the stated requirements, and a current W-9; the supplier questionnaire and purchase-order terms acknowledgment must also be completed electronically.
