Description
The City of Riverside Public Works Department is soliciting bids for removal and replacement of a City-provided 66-inch butterfly valve at the Regional Water Quality Control Plant. The contractor must isolate the work area, provide bypass pumping, furnish and remove a temporary carbon-steel blocking plate, remove and dispose of the existing valve, install the replacement valve with flexible couplings and nut-and-bolt gasket kits, reuse existing flanges and spool pieces, and test the completed installation. The work includes field verification, coordination with City personnel, dewatering support, restoration of the junction box, applicable traffic and stormwater controls, and compliance with prevailing-wage and safety requirements. The prime contractor must hold a California Class A General Engineering or Class C-34 Pipeline Contractor license, have operated under the same legally registered business name for at least five years, and demonstrate at least three comparable completed valve-installation projects within the past five years. The estimated bid value is $163,000, the work must be completed within 20 working days after the Notice to Proceed, and performance and payment bonds of 100% of the contract price are required after award.
