Description
The City of Hemet is soliciting bids for the trimming of 314 palm trees within Hemet city limits. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials, debris disposal, site cleanup, beehive removal coinciding with the work, required permits, and traffic-control measures. Work includes removing dead fronds, flowers, fruit, loose sheathes, and specified green fronds; pruning Canary Island date palms; removing qualifying volunteer seedlings; and protecting public and private property. The work must be performed during normal City business hours unless otherwise approved, with daily cleanup and public-safety measures. The contractor must be registered as a California Department of Industrial Relations public works contractor, hold the required California contractor license and City business license, comply with prevailing-wage requirements, and provide an arborist certification and documents needed for work under the City's Caltrans permit. The selected contractor will have 30 calendar days to complete the work after receiving a notice to proceed. Performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract price, are required after award if the total contract price exceeds $25,000.
