Description
The United States Air Force is conducting market research for a midwave camera capable of operating across the 1.5–5 micron spectral range. The required system must include 25 mm, 50 mm, and 200 mm focal-length options; temperature measurement from -20°C to 3,000°C without physically changing filters; on-device recording for more than one hour at full frame rate; a full-frame rate above 1 kHz; exposure times of 300 nanoseconds or less at full frame rate; real-time temperature calibration; a 640×512 or larger focal-plane array; trigger input; and operation from -10°C to 45°C. The package must also include calibration of the lens, camera, and filter combination; a configurable four-position filter wheel for one-inch filters; a computer controller; analysis software; three blank filter holders; protective cases; an anti-rotation mounting mechanism; and transportation, delivery, and on-site coordination. The response is a sources-sought capabilities package, not a proposal or quote, and must demonstrate technical compliance, company and ownership information, socioeconomic status, manufacturer information, warranty information, commercial sales history, relevant experience, and any proposed teaming or subcontracting arrangements. Responses are limited to five pages and must be submitted by email with the subject line “Midwave Camera.”
