Description
The University of Massachusetts Amherst University Health Services seeks proposals for two molecular analyzers under a reagent-rental model: one moderate-complexity, non-waived analyzer for the laboratory and one CLIA-waived analyzer for clinical point-of-care testing. Respondents may propose for either or both analyzers, and UMass may make multiple awards. The laboratory analyzer must support PCR or NAA testing, process at least 32 simultaneous samples, provide walk-away capacity, complete SARS-CoV-2 and influenza A&B testing within a recommended maximum of 20 minutes, and interface with OrchardSoft Sequoia Enterprise Lab. The point-of-care analyzer must support PCR or NAA testing, process at least 12 simultaneous samples, provide walk-away capacity, and meet the stated size recommendation. Required testing includes SARS-CoV-2, influenza A&B, strep, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and bacterial vaginosis, with optional testing for trichomonas, herpes simplex virus 1 and 2, Candida vaginitis, and a gastrointestinal panel. The scope includes equipment, reagents, specimen-collection devices, installation, on-site staff training, validation materials, preventive maintenance, emergency service with a maximum 24-hour response time, and disclosure of all ancillary, consumable, quality-control, connectivity, implementation, and training costs. Pricing is fixed for the first three years, with increases of up to 2% in each of two optional one-year renewals.
