Description
The University of Southern Mississippi is soliciting sealed bids for one Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer for materials characterization. The instrument must measure mechanical properties as functions of time, temperature, and frequency and include graphite air bearings, 25 mm drive-shaft travel, a linear optical encoder with 0.1 nanometer resolution, modulus and frequency ranges of 10^3–10^12 Pascals and 0.001–200 Hz, force capabilities from 0.0001 to 18 Newtons, specified tan-delta performance, and dynamic deformation from ±0.005 to 10,000 microns. The system must support tension, compression, bending, cantilever, and shear modes; automatic sample measurements; temperature and frequency programming; multiple testing protocols; a −100°C to 600°C furnace; sub-ambient cooling without liquid nitrogen while also supporting liquid-nitrogen and refrigerated cooling; touchscreen operation; automated clamp calibration; direct-strain operation; compatibility with existing university DMA clamps; unlimited university software installations; historical data-file compatibility; and a renewable annual service plan. The bid must include delivery lead time, FOB destination freight, a one-year warranty, technical support, descriptive literature, the manufacturer and model, deviation or approved-equal information, and the manufacturer's standard warranty.
