Description
The City of Vandalia is soliciting sealed bids for removal and replacement of the fire sprinkler system at the Vandalia Senior Center. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, calculations, and drawings; replace piping with Schedule 40 black iron pipe; provide code-compliant design under the 2017 Ohio Building and Fire Codes and NFPA 13 (2016); install drains and signage at low points; and replace pressure-flow switches, tamper switches, low-air alarms, and related electronic monitoring components compatible with the existing alarm system. The existing riser will remain. The contractor is responsible for repairing associated damage and cleanup, including drywall and ceiling tile. Bidders must attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting, submit an Experience Statement and required bid forms, and include a bid bond equal to 10% of the total bid. The project completion date is April 30, 2027, pending City Council approval. The solicitation also includes insurance, performance/security bond, payment bond, maintenance bond, prevailing-wage, and subcontracting requirements.
