Description
The United States Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office is conducting market research on existing, commercial or rapidly adaptable on-demand dieless robotic sheet metal forming capabilities. The desired system would produce structural components, brackets, panels, skin sections, and spare parts for support equipment and aircraft at depot, maintenance, or factory-level facilities, using single- or dual-sided synchronized robotic manipulators with interchangeable forming styli and without part-specific hard tooling. Respondents should describe hardware and software capabilities, including forming of aerospace aluminum alloys such as 2024, 7075, and 6061; potential processing of steel and titanium; CAD-to-path automation; offline, vendor-independent operation; open-system interfaces; industrial facility integration; dimensional precision; in-situ metrology; technology and manufacturing readiness; operator training; safety compliance; relevant applications and experience; and detailed country-of-origin information for major components. Optional services may include training, technical support, tooling or stylus consumables, and maintenance. This is an information-gathering notice only and does not solicit binding offers or commit the Government to a contract.
