Description
Louisa County is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to provide metal and welding services on an as-needed basis. Work may include fabricating metal structures; repairing machinery and equipment using electric arc and gas welding equipment; inspecting damaged equipment; determining repair procedures; cutting, fitting, assembling, and welding materials; and determining appropriate heating properties for metals and alloys. The contractor must provide tools, equipment, transportation, and labor, while the County generally provides supplies, materials, or parts. Each service assignment will be authorized through a written work order, with individual work orders not exceeding $5,000. Offerors must have at least five years of relevant experience, appropriate licensing, experience with similar government entities, and the ability to respond promptly. Pricing must include regular and overtime hourly rates for ironworkers, welders, and helpers, plus a material markup percentage.
