Description
This Request for Information seeks vendors capable of manufacturing approximately 1,000 telescoping dunnage bars modeled after the EVANS DF-1 loader crossbar. The bars consist of an 8-gauge Z-shaped steel crossbeam, oak wood inserts, cast metal heads, a pinned locking latch, and telescoping components. Required load ratings are 4,000 pounds for uniformly distributed vertical load, 2,000 pounds for concentrated center-span load, and 4,000 pounds for horizontal or longitudinal restraint load. Respondents should identify which capabilities they can provide, including 3D scanning, casting, machining, metal bending, wood machining, welding, assembly, testing, validation, FEA, quality control, certification, production capacity, lead times, rough-order-of-magnitude pricing, risk identification, and relevant experience. Responses must be a Statement of Capabilities no longer than 10 pages, using at least 11-point text, and should include technical and manufacturing strategy, testing and inspection methods, certifications, estimated lead time and cost for approximately 1,000 bars, required source information or samples, and examples of similar work. This is market research only and is not a request for proposal or a commitment to award a contract.
