Description

The City of Richmond seeks bids for on-demand welding, fabrication, machine shop, mechanical repair, AutoCAD, painting, and equipment pickup and delivery services for its water treatment plant, wastewater treatment plant, pumping stations, combined sewer overflow facilities, and ancillary support facilities. Work includes machining and modifying metal components; welding carbon steel, stainless steel, ductile iron, cast iron, and aluminum; brazing nonferrous metals; reverse engineering and drawing existing parts; mechanical repair and refurbishment of pumps, centrifuges, conveyors, valves, actuators, blowers, compressors, and screening mechanisms; and shop or field painting. The contractor must provide qualified and certified personnel, equipment, tools, consumables, supervision, testing, and quality-control services. Machinists must hold journey-level or higher National Institute for Metalworking Skills certification, and welders must be certified by AWS, ASME, and/or API. Regular work is generally required within seven to ten calendar days, while emergency work may require mobilization within two hours and completion within 24 hours. The bid includes estimated hourly quantities for machine shop, welding, AutoCAD, pickup and delivery, and mechanical services, with possible multiple awards and task-order assignments. The initial contract term is one year, with an optional extension of up to 12 months and up to two additional two-year renewal terms.
