Description
The Vermont Department of Health seeks one or more Vermont-licensed physicians to serve as the Statewide Medical Director for the Office of Emergency Medical Services. Duties include authoring and revising statewide EMS protocols; reviewing EMS materials, training guidance, and certification exams; advising on rules, quality-of-care complaints, licensure matters, and emergency response plans; and supporting EMS districts, education programs, exercises, and emergency operations. The role also includes participation in the Vermont EMS Conference and assistance with grant initiatives and statewide EMS system development. Bidders must hold a valid Vermont medical license and have experience in emergency medical services direction, with American Board of Emergency Medicine certification in Emergency Medical Services listed as a required qualification. The State anticipates five-year contracts beginning January 1, 2027. Responses must include a cover letter, technical response, references, price schedule, and completed Certificate of Compliance.
