Description
The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County is seeking qualified consultant teams to provide occupational medical services for mandatory DOT medical recertification and fitness-for-duty examinations for safety-sensitive employees. Services include medical history reviews, vital-sign measurements, vision and hearing testing, physical examinations, urinalysis, certification, and issuance of DOT medical cards in accordance with Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requirements. The contractor must use qualified, licensed Texas personnel listed on the FMCSA National Registry; provide at least six clinic locations in the Houston metropolitan area; support appointments and walk-ins during extended weekday hours; maintain compatible electronic medical-record and reporting systems; protect medical-record confidentiality; provide required DOT/FMCSA reporting; and promptly notify METRO of failed examinations and medical holds. The estimated volume is approximately 2,000 examinations annually, with METRO paying for no more than one examination per employee per year. The contract has a three-year period of performance with two one-year option periods.
