Description
The Municipality of Anchorage is soliciting bids for maintenance of approximately 31 kilometers of ski trails across five Eagle River and Chugiak-area systems, including Beach Lake, Chugiak High School, Mirror Lake Middle School and Edmonds Lake Park connections, Gruening Middle School, and Eagle River High School/Yosemite Drive trails. Winter duties include approximately two grooming sets per week, classic-track setting, skating-lane maintenance, snow and debris management, race-course preparation, post-race restoration, trail repairs, and a trail-condition hotline updated at least three times weekly. Summer duties include clearing and trimming vegetation, maintaining and installing signage, repairing selected trail sections, maintaining barriers and gates, and completing approved work by September 30 each year. The contractor must provide labor, materials, supplies, and specialized grooming equipment, including a wide-tracked snowcat-style vehicle, drags or blades, a cutting drag or tiller, and a track sled or pan. The initial performance period is expected to run from November 1, 2026, or contract execution, whichever is later, through October 31, 2027, with four one-year renewal options. Bidders must have at least three years of successful ski trail or race-course grooming experience and provide local references if requested during responsibility review.
