Description
The State of Wyoming is soliciting contractors to provide snowmobile trail grooming and maintenance services in the Dubois/Sheridan Basin area. The contractor must provide all required equipment, including at least one qualifying self-propelled tracked grooming tractor and one multi-blade grooming drag, and must meet detailed equipment, operating, safety, and performance specifications. The service area includes approximately 65 miles of trails at elevations up to 10,000 feet, with grooming generally required four to six nights per week during the tentative December 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027, season. The contractor must have at least five years of snowmobile trail grooming experience, maintain a backup plan for equipment failure or operator absence, coordinate weekly schedules with the State, submit weekly work logs and trail-condition information, attend a required annual grooming contractor meeting in Lander, Wyoming, and provide applicable good-standing and insurance documentation. Compensation will primarily be based on a bid price per groomed mile, with secondary hourly rates potentially available for trail dozing, signing, or maintenance. The contract is for one year, with up to four additional one-year extensions by written agreement and required approvals.
