Description
The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation has authorized the Town of Calais to discharge stormwater under Construction General Permit 3-9020 for low-risk construction activities. The project involves stormwater improvements in Calais, Vermont, including underground infiltration chambers at the East Calais Post Office, site reconfiguration to improve drainage, drainage improvements in the road right-of-way, an infiltration basin at Fellows Road, road ditch improvements, and stabilization of an eroding gully. The total authorized disturbance is 1.30 acres. The permittee must implement erosion prevention and sediment control practices per the Low Risk Site Handbook, stabilize disturbed areas within 14 days, and conduct inspections every 7 days (daily during winter). The authorization is valid from December 2, 2024 to December 1, 2029.
