Description
Essex Westford School District is soliciting bids for the purchase of three identical specialized service school buses. The buses must meet all Vermont State and Federal School Bus Requirements and be built on a 2021 or 2022 Chevy/GMC chassis with a 177-inch wheelbase or approved equal. Each bus will be a 36-passenger model with seats removed to accommodate a wheelchair lift and two wheelchair securement positions. Key features include a 6.6L gasoline engine (with optional electric-powered pricing), automatic transmission, dual rear wheels, locking rear differential, LED exterior lights, heated motorized mirrors, and a driver's seat with tilt-back and lumbar support. The buses must be painted school bus yellow with the district's name and vehicle numbers. Required safety equipment includes a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, emergency triangles, and student 8-way lights. Each bus will be equipped with a Ricon wheelchair lift, Q-Straint securements, integrated child safety restraints, a Seon camera system with four cameras, and a Child Check Mate automated passenger security system. Optional items include a premium driver seat, rear air conditioning, traction tires, and wheel alignment. Proposers may also provide alternate pricing for electric-powered vehicles.
