Description
The City of Huntsville is soliciting a contractor to provide comprehensive, year-round litter control services within the city limits. The scope includes regularly scheduled monthly pickup across approximately 40 miles of city streets, including paper, plastic, metal trash, tires, and other litter in public street rights-of-way. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, tools, water, safety equipment, transportation, disposal or recycling, and an on-site supervisor. Crews must work during daylight hours and wear high-visibility safety vests. The contractor must also provide unscheduled litter-removal services within 24 hours of notice, perform follow-up service for missed areas within two business days, submit monthly invoices documenting tonnage and litter types with city weigh tickets, and provide before-and-after photographs when possible. Pricing must include scheduled monthly service, unscheduled pickup, and the total monthly cost for approximately 40.13 miles. The initial contract runs through September 30, 2027, with four one-year renewal options. Evidence of insurability is required with the response, while the awarded contractor must provide specified insurance coverage and a certificate of insurance after award. At least three recent business references are required with the bid.
