The City of Des Moines, Iowa is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced consulting firms to develop a comprehensive work program and public engagement strategy for a future Citywide Historic Resource Survey. This initiative is a key component of the city's adopted Historic Preservation Plan, 'ReflectDSM,' and aims to establish a clear, actionable roadmap for a multi-year, community-led survey. The project will focus on developing strategic phasing recommendations, a flexible funding strategy, and a scalable public engagement approach. The selected consultant will also be responsible for drafting content for a future Request for Proposal (RFP) for the survey itself. The project is expected to take approximately 12-16 months to complete. Responses must be submitted electronically through the city's bidding system; faxed, emailed, mailed, or hand-delivered responses will not be accepted.
