Description
The City of West Des Moines is soliciting a contractor to provide scheduled inspection, testing, preventative and predictive maintenance, and emergency repair services for emergency generator systems at various City-operated facilities. The scope covers engine-generator packages, automatic transfer switches, fuel systems, batteries and chargers, exhaust systems, cooling systems, controls, switchgear, and related equipment. Services must comply with applicable Level 1 requirements of NFPA 110 and include semiannual, annual, biennial, and triennial work, 24-hour year-round on-call coverage, emergency response within three hours, and non-emergency response within four hours. The contractor must provide qualified power-generation and switchgear technicians, compatible rental generators and distribution equipment, oil and fuel analysis, load-bank and insulation testing, replacement parts meeting OEM minimum standards, waste disposal, and six-month parts-and-labor warranties on repairs. Bidders must submit pricing, lists of rental generators available within four and twenty-four hours, a sample service report, contractor contact information, and at least three similar references completed within the past 24 months. The initial contract term is five years, with scheduled maintenance billed at a flat monthly fee and additional rates for authorized emergency or nonscheduled repairs.
