Description
The City of Ames is seeking quotations for 13 25-kVA, five 37.5-kVA, and five 50-kVA single-phase pad-mounted distribution transformers, plus three 150-kVA, three 300-kVA, and one 1,500-kVA three-phase pad-mounted distribution transformers. The units must meet the City's specifications, including oil-filled, non-PCB construction, specified voltage ratings, ANSI/IEEE and other applicable standards, current ISO 9001:2015 quality certification for the manufacturing facility, and manufacture and shipment from within the 48 contiguous United States. Acceptable manufacturers listed are ABB, Cooper, Ermco, Howard, and WEG; other manufacturers require prior approval. Bidders must provide pricing, manufacturer information, lead times, no-load and load-loss data, drawings showing bushing spacing and overall dimensions, a supplier QMS declaration, written warranty, test reports, and any specification exceptions or alternate proposals. Delivery must use pallets and open-bed trucks, with at least 24 hours' advance notice. The transformers require a minimum two-year in-service warranty, and the bid will be evaluated using price, loss calculations, delivery time, and related administrative considerations.
