Description
Salt Lake City Corporation is soliciting a pre-qualified general contractor for the Old Salt Lake City Main Library Remodel at 209 East 500 South. The project converts existing gallery and office areas into city office, youth-services, classroom, and after-school program spaces across the basement and three above-grade floors, with approximately 32,500 square feet of renovation work. The scope includes selective demolition and interior construction; millwork and architectural cabinetry; doors and hardware; framing; flooring, wall, ceiling, and painting finishes; plumbing; HVAC; electrical; low-voltage communications; security; fire protection; commissioning; and LEED v5 Interior Design and Construction Gold certification requirements. The contract is a lump-sum construction contract with a 155-calendar-day period after the Notice to Proceed. Bidders must be pre-qualified, and the solicitation identifies four qualified general contractors. Bid security of at least 5 percent is required; performance and payment bonds of at least 100 percent of the contract price are required after award.
