Description
The City of Palm Bay is soliciting bids for a full-service construction buildout of approximately 12,149 square feet on the third floor of Building E, the City Hall Annex, for Public Works. The work includes architectural modifications, demolition and repairs, partitions, doors and hardware, finishes, plumbing, mechanical systems, electrical work, fire protection, accessibility improvements, signage, casework, toilet compartments and accessories, and related coordination, testing, cleaning, and closeout activities. The project must be performed in an occupied facility with phasing, temporary protection, dust control, safety barriers, and coordination to minimize disruption to City operations. The project estimate is $1,600,000 and includes a $15,000 commissioning allowance. The project is funded through American Rescue Plan Act funds and requires compliance with Davis-Bacon requirements and applicable federal provisions. Work must reach substantial completion within 200 calendar days and final completion within 230 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. A general contractor license, electronic bid bond of at least 5% of the bid price, and construction, performance, and payment bonds are required. The contractor must self-perform at least 50% of the work unless the City approves a reduction. The scope also includes value engineering, coordination with City departments and existing building systems, and work in an occupied facility with restricted hours for certain activities.
