Description
The City of Edinburg is soliciting bids for comprehensive electronic-waste services, including receiving, collection, transportation, sorting, processing, storage, marketing, and sale of recyclable electronics from its drop-off center, commercial recycling program, office recycling programs, municipal facilities, departments, and community collection events. The contractor must provide labor, vehicles, pallets, containers, shrink-wrap, tools, and related logistics, with pickups generally occurring within five business days of notice. The contractor must be a qualified electronics recycler with active R2v3 or e-Stewards certification and an electronics-recycler registration with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Responsibilities include downstream chain-of-custody tracking, environmentally compliant processing, data sanitization or physical destruction before resale or export, serialized certificates of data destruction, settlement reports, and compliance with specified environmental and privacy standards. Bidders must submit itemized commodity payback and processing-fee pricing, including data-erasure and shredding fees. The initial term runs through September 30, 2027, with one additional fiscal-year extension option.
