Description
The City of Edinburg Fire Department is soliciting proposals from licensed fire protection contractors to design, engineer, permit, and install complete automatic fire sprinkler systems at two municipal fire stations. Station 1 is an approximately 18,000-square-foot retrofit and expansion requiring an audit and hydrostatic test of the existing partial system, new sprinkler lines and heads, integration with existing infrastructure, and smoke/carbon monoxide alarm accessories. Station 3 is an approximately 6,000-square-foot new installation requiring a dedicated riser, backflow preventer, main drain, inspector's test valves, fire alarm monitoring, smoke detection, a new fire department connection, and underground connection to the existing six-inch water line, including utility work and pavement or concrete cutting as needed. The scope includes system design, plans, hydraulic calculations, permitting, ceiling and grid replacement, electrical work, wall penetrations, duct or equipment relocation, phased work coordination at active 24/7 facilities, a two-hour, 200-psi hydrostatic test witnessed by the authority having jurisdiction, as-built drawings in CAD/PDF formats, hydraulic calculation plates, operation and maintenance manuals, material test certificates, and personnel training. The contractor is responsible for permit and reinspection costs caused by failed inspections or missed appointments. The federally funded project requires compliance with applicable FEMA requirements, the Davis-Bacon Act, Build America, Buy America requirements, and related federal regulations.
