Description
This invitation to bid covers improvements to the ECEP cooling tower basin and condenser-water systems. The work includes three sluice gates, a 24-inch condenser-water-return bypass pipe with butterfly valves, isolation butterfly valves in the main condenser-water header, replacement of pneumatic actuators with electric actuators on Cooling Towers 1 through 4, chemical-treatment solenoid valves, four insertion electromagnetic flow meters, associated piping and supports, and control modifications integrated with the existing cooling-tower control system. The contractor must coordinate work in an occupied and operational facility, perform field verification, shutdown and tie-in planning, testing, commissioning, and required electrical and mechanical work. The drawings specify waterproof and corrosion-resistant equipment, 316-series stainless-steel components where exposed to condenser water, new flow-meter instrumentation, local sluice-gate controls, and owner training. Award will be based on the lowest responsive and responsible bidder using the combined base-bid price. The project has an approximately 75-day duration, requires a Florida mechanical or general contractor license, project references, subcontractor information, affidavits, applicable preference documentation, insurance, and bid, payment, and performance bonds.
