Description
The State of South Dakota, through the Bureau of Human Resources and Administration, is seeking a licensed and qualified third-party administrator for its self-funded workers' compensation program. The selected contractor will administer employee injury and illness claims, investigate and defend claims as appropriate, process electronic payments, maintain electronic claim records, submit required state reports, and provide claims payment and reporting capabilities. The scope includes 24/7 injury reporting and response; medical case management; return-to-work and transitional-work support; pharmacy and nurse-triage services; medical bill review, repricing, PPO network administration, and dispute response; subrogation coordination; and Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act reporting, including Workers' Compensation Medicare Set-Aside support. Proposals must address implementation, project management, data conversion, reporting and analytics, security, hosting options, system integration, and performance guarantees. The contract is for an initial three-year term with up to two one-year renewal extensions.
