Description
Dane County is soliciting an insurance carrier to provide group Short-Term/Long-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability Only coverage for its employees. The selected provider must offer benefits that duplicate or exceed the existing plans, administer claims from investigation through payment, support the County's “Own Job” disability definition, provide open enrollment and new-hire enrollment, and issue employee booklets, plan documents, claim forms, instructions, and a toll-free number. The scope also includes reporting and administration requirements such as state filings, GASB 45 data, year-end cost analysis, Form 1099 reporting, monthly claims and management reports, transition support, clinical and vocational resources, Social Security advocacy, and service guarantees. Proposals must address organizational capabilities, benefit design, pricing, reporting, claim administration, clinical resources, transition to LTD, vocational rehabilitation, and additional benefits. The County anticipates either a guaranteed three-year contract with up to two annual renewals or a five-year fixed contract, beginning May 1, 2027.
