Description

The National Park Service is soliciting a small-business general contractor under a sealed-bid invitation for bids to construct a new one-story North Unit Visitor Center at Badlands National Park. The approximately 16,700-square-foot facility will include an entry atrium, exhibit spaces, a bookstore, administrative offices, educational spaces, public restrooms, paleontological and wet laboratories, mechanical and electrical systems, fire protection, communications, security, and associated building systems. The work includes foundations, drilled piers, precast concrete wall panels, structural steel, cold-formed steel roof trusses, roofing, glazing, interior finishes, casework, signage, utilities, paving, parking and circulation improvements, landscaping, stormwater systems, and related site work. The base bid is the North Unit Visitor Center and associated site work, with options for an east shade structure, west shade structure, and concrete monument sign at the east entry drive. The estimated construction magnitude is $10 million to $20 million. The anticipated performance period is 730 days after notice to proceed.
