Description
Ventura Unified School District is soliciting a general contractor to provide security fencing and comprehensive site improvements at Anacapa Middle School. The work includes new and modified fencing and gates, accessible gates and pickup areas, access-control infrastructure, parking-lot reconfiguration and resurfacing, stormwater detention, tennis courts, basketball-court improvements, retaining walls, concrete walks, ramps and stairs, landscaping and irrigation, signage, fire-lane improvements, electrical work, electric-vehicle charging stations, administration-office renovations, storefront and stucco repairs, window film, and installation of owner-furnished covered walkway structures. The project also requires demolition, grading and excavation, temporary fencing and site protection, shoring where needed, utility coordination, geotechnical compliance, SWPPP management and erosion controls, construction surveying, testing and inspections, prevailing-wage and public-works compliance, and coordination around an occupied school campus. Bidders must attend the mandatory job walk, hold a valid and active California Class B general contractor license, complete required prequalification, submit a 10 percent bid security, and provide 100 percent payment and performance bonds if awarded. The contract includes a $120,000 contingency allowance and a 229-day contract period; construction is scheduled from December 21, 2026, through August 6, 2027.
