Description
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is soliciting a contractor to collect, launder, professionally decontaminate, fold, sort, package, and deliver physical training clothing used by CAL FIRE Training Center students, including clothing used during live fire training. Services include providing all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, permits, taxes, and fees. Clothing must be returned clean, dry, folded, and sorted by size and garment type within seven calendar days of collection, with itemized inventories for each pickup and delivery. Processing must prevent loss, damage, and cross-contamination, and the contractor must replace garments lost or damaged through its negligence. The solicitation prohibits subcontracting. The estimated service quantities cover shirts, shorts, sweaters, and sweatpants for Company Officer Academy and Firefighter Academy students. Bidders must submit all-inclusive per-item laundering rates and comply with California wage and employee-benefit requirements. The agreement is estimated to run from November 1, 2026, through October 31, 2029, subject to required approvals.
