Description
Sacramento County Department of Health Services, Behavioral Health Services, is conducting an open enrollment to identify qualified psychiatrists to provide psychiatric services for youth and young adults detained at the Youth Detention Facility. Services include psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing psychotropic medications, medication evaluation and management, consultation with facility staff, crisis intervention, and on-call phone coverage. Providers must be board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists or board-eligible and actively pursuing certification, with at least two years of experience providing psychiatric services to children or youth. Contracts will be awarded on a rolling basis through July 1, 2028, with an annual funding pool of $540,000 shared among multiple providers. On-site services are compensated at $250 per hour, and overnight on-call coverage at $150 per night.
