Description
The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County is soliciting bids for a firm-fixed-price contract to provide janitorial cleaning services for its alternate service vehicle fleet. The contractor must furnish personnel, supervision, equipment, supplies, safety materials, and disposal services for interior and exterior cleaning of New England Wheels, Sunset, and Arboc vans, including washing, waxing, sanitizing, disinfecting, vacuuming, glass and mirror cleaning, tire and wheel-well cleaning, trash removal, and related surface cleaning. Cleaning is expected for up to 30 vehicles per day, seven days per week, during the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the designated transit facility. The initial performance period is one year, with two additional one-year option periods and a possible month-to-month extension of up to six months. The solicitation establishes a 35% Small Business Participation goal, requires at least 30% self-performance by the prime contractor, and requires applicable small-business utilization forms and certification documentation. The contractor must also comply with vehicle-facility safety, chemical approval, spill response, bloodborne-pathogen, drug-and-alcohol, employee training, and site-specific safety-plan requirements.
