Description
The City of Providence Department of Parks is soliciting a contractor to manage water quality and control invasive aquatic vegetation, including curly-leaf pondweed, waterweed, fanwort, filamentous and microscopic algae, lily pads, and cyanobacteria in the lakes of Roger Williams Park. The contractor must develop and implement treatment plans, use the specified aquatic-control products, coordinate treatment scheduling with the Parks Department, and obtain all required permits and postings. The base work covers year-long treatment of eight named lakes, with bidders providing individual lake pricing and a total bid. All lakes are to be treated on the same day, with weed-control results expected within two weeks and algae-control results within one week; required reapplication is at no additional cost. The solicitation includes optional one-year extensions for fiscal years 2028 and 2029, each including a $10,000 allowance for cyanobacteria-related work. Initial annual treatment is to be completed by April 15 unless otherwise directed. Qualifications include at least three similar projects completed within the past five years, along with relevant project and personnel experience.
