Description
The Town of Berlin is soliciting proposals for snow plowing on town streets during the Fall 2026 through Spring 2027 snow season. Contractors must provide trucks, qualified drivers, plows, fuel, maintenance, supplies, service facilities, and at least one reserve vehicle and plow. Trucks must be capable of operating under all storm conditions, equipped with chains, rated at least 20,000 pounds GVW, and fitted with plows measuring at least 10 feet by 36 inches. Contractors must begin plowing within one hour of notification by the Highway Department and report truck operating times and accidents or damage as specified. Bidders may also offer spare vehicles and additional equipment, including loaders, skid steers, and tri-axle hauling trucks. The contract is expected to run for one snow season and may be extended for up to two additional seasons by mutual agreement. A performance bond of $2,500 is required from the successful contractor. The Town will pay a minimum seasonal amount of $2,500 per successful district award, and pricing must be submitted through the electronic pricing table. Required response materials include a complete non-price proposal, three references, a W-9, phone number, proposal confirmation, and applicable pricing and insurance information. The Certificate of Insurance is required at contract signing if awarded, rather than with the initial proposal.
