Description
Orangeburg County Broadband is requesting proposals for eight standby generators and 88 12-volt, 170-Ah batteries serving seven central offices and one cabinet. Each central office requires twelve batteries and one 18-kilowatt standby generator with a pad mount, cellular connectivity, automatic transfer switch, and complete turnkey integration with existing infrastructure. The cabinet requires four batteries and one 10-kilowatt standby generator, including a new concrete pad, breaker, wiring, conduit, related electrical components, and fencing or security around the cabinet. The scope includes furnishing and installing automatic transfer switches; connecting the systems; quoting removal and disposal of existing equipment; generator startup, commissioning, load testing, and certification that each system operates under load before turnover; and identifying recurring cellular monitoring fees. Existing central-office pads, transfer switches, wiring infrastructure, battery racks, and security fencing are generally available for reuse, while the cabinet requires new installation components. Vendors must provide BABA-compliant and non-BABA-compliant pricing options, and the BABA option requires product-specific, project-specific manufacturer self-certification letters. The addendum also requests pricing for an annual maintenance plan and a three-year warranty on generators and batteries. Evaluation considers scope and specification compliance, BABA compliance, qualifications and experience, total cost, delivery and installation schedule, past performance, and references.
