Description
The City of Columbia is seeking qualified contractors for the Canal Water Treatment Plant Filter Rehabilitation and Valve Replacements project. The work includes replacing filter underdrains and media in seven filters, replacing filter media retainers and media in three additional filters, rehabilitating concrete and filter components, and replacing 40 valves, including high-service, raw-water, drain, and air-wash valves. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, materials, installation, testing, commissioning, erosion control, and restoration required by the plans and technical specifications. The existing treatment plant must remain in continuous operation, subject to limited approved outages. The bid requires a completed online response through the City's e-procurement system, including the bid form, technical response and appendices, business information for subcontractors and vendors, bid bond, references, litigation and claims history, financial statements, and applicable business-participation documentation. The lowest responsive and responsible bidder is intended to receive the award. A five-percent bid bond is required with each bid; payment and performance bonds at 100 percent of the contract price are required from the awardee.
