Description
San Diego Community Power (Community Power) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) for renewable energy and/or energy storage products located within and near its member communities. The RFI is open year-round to submittals. Community Power seeks new and existing wholesale renewable generation and energy storage projects within San Diego and Imperial Counties that will deliver Portfolio Content Category 1 (PCC1) renewable energy and/or provide local grid resiliency. Projects must be at least 1 MW. Community Power updated its Inclusive and Sustainable Workforce Policy and Energy Proposal Evaluation Criteria in February 2026. The RFI covers various contract types including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Energy Storage Service Agreements (ESSAs), and RA-only agreements, with terms of 10 to 20 years. Evaluation criteria include economic/portfolio value, project development status, workforce development, community benefits, and environmental stewardship.
