Description
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is soliciting bids for podiatry services for residents of the San Antonio State Hospital. The contractor must provide twice-weekly on-site clinics, evaluate referred patients face-to-face, conduct examinations and follow-up visits, and treat conditions including bunions, calluses and corns, fungal nails, foot and ankle fractures, gout, heel pain, and ingrown toenails. Each clinic will serve up to 10 patients, with additional patients billed at a flat per-client rate. Services must be performed by a Texas-licensed Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and include a mandatory two-week facility training period before treating patients. The contract requires weekday service availability, response to routine service calls within four hours, and on-site emergency response within one hour when requested. The bidder must provide pricing, at least three verifiable references for similar work performed within the last two years, required affirmations, qualifications information, and applicable tax-identification and addendum forms. The initial contract term begins upon award and expires August 31, 2029, with no renewal options and a possible one-year extension for continuity or transition purposes. Historical spend for similar services was $93,000 for September 1, 2025, through August 31, 2026; this is provided only as a guideline and is not a guaranteed award amount or volume.
