Description
Pierce County intends to directly negotiate a 12-month contract, estimated at $74,596.37, with Dr. Clark Waffle to serve as Physician Medical Program Director for Pierce County Emergency Medical Services. The procurement is exempt from competition because the County has determined that Dr. Waffle is the only person capable of meeting the need. Interested entities may submit a capability statement demonstrating that they can provide the required services and meet the minimum qualification: a letter from the Washington State Department of Health authorizing the entity or individual to perform the services. The capability statement must identify the submitting individual or organization, provide a primary contact's name, email address, and phone number, and describe how the minimum requirement and the County's need will be met. This is a sole-source exemption notice rather than a competitive bid or proposal solicitation; if a capability statement demonstrates another qualified provider, the County may cancel the notice and conduct a competitive procurement.
