Description
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and California Correctional Health Care Services require on-site, in-person orientation and mobility training for visually impaired patients at California Medical Facility. The contractor must provide initial assessments, white-cane training sessions, and follow-up evaluations designed to help patients move safely and independently. The scope includes all labor, travel, per diem, materials, supplies, transportation, equipment, and related expenses, along with visit notes and reports for patient medical records. Bidders must demonstrate at least three years of similar experience, provide required orientation and mobility certifications, meet the mandatory 3% Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise participation requirement, and submit three positive references for comparable services performed within the past three years. The resulting contract term is January 1, 2027, or upon approval if later, through December 31, 2029. Services are estimated at 150 sessions across the contract period, but the quantities are not binding.
