Description
The City of Tucson is soliciting proposals for an annual requirements contract to provide comprehensive preventive maintenance and repair services for vertical conveyance systems (VCS), elevators, material handling units, and chair lifts. The contract aims to ensure optimal equipment operation, minimize downtime, guarantee passenger safety, and maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. Services include routine preventive maintenance, annual and five-year elevator testing, and full-time monitoring of elevator emergency communication systems. The scope of work encompasses monthly site visits for inspections, testing, and maintenance of all equipment. The contractor will also be responsible for on-call emergency entrapment release and repair services, with specific response time requirements. Additionally, the contract includes elevator testing programs (annual for hydraulic, five-year for traction) and monitoring of elevator emergency communication systems. The contract may be funded by Housing and Urban Development (HUD) federal grants, which means certain HUD terms and conditions, including wage rate determinations and Section 3 requirements, will apply. The City reserves the right to add or remove equipment from the contract as needed.
