Description
Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) is seeking to contract with local businesses within the state of Arizona to supply a variety of local foods that are Arizona-grown, produced, and/or processed and distributed. The contract is intended to be for one year, with the possibility of renewal through June 30, 2027, contingent upon annual purchase orders. The scope of work includes providing consistent and timely delivery of quality fresh, frozen, or dry local food items to the TUSD Food Services Central Warehouse. Vendors must demonstrate dedication and experience in supplying local foods to school districts or similar entities, along with evidence of their organizational capacity and qualifications. Specific product requirements include a focus on whole grain-rich and enriched grain products for student meals, with adherence to FDA and USDA regulations. The district also seeks local food items to enhance its catering services. Key specifications for food items include no preservatives like BHT, BHA, or artificial colors/flavors, and a preference for vegetarian/vegan options. Vendors must provide current specification sheets, nutrient facts, ingredients, and product formulation statements. Deliveries are to be made to the TUSD Food Services Central Warehouse during specified receiving hours, and no fuel surcharges or added delivery charges will be accepted. Pricing must remain firm for the initial contract term, with provisions for price adjustments under specific conditions.
